For the RWANDA CLOTHING Summer 2016 collection our designer Joselyne wanted to create designs that are hot, wild and sexy but traditional at the same time – Rwandan summer trends for an international market that got the African wildlife spirit in them.

Strong, sexy and powerful – and typical and traditional African – that is our Summer 2016 collection which has the special wild touch.

We used special batik fabrics, hand-made embroidery stitches as decorations and details that stand for traditional Rwandan clothing design and then we combined it with sexy summer styles and in the end we found a Summer 2016 collection that is natural and beautiful Rwandan.

This collection is again inspired by the colors of the African summertime nature, by the wild animals of Rwanda, fire and the hot burning sun above the savanna ground in contrast to a blue sky that has no white in it – that is the summer of the African RWANDA CLOTHING fashion brand designed by Joselyne Umutoniwase.

We had the idea to keep the photo shoot for this collection simple. Just a plain hot orange background in contrast to the clothes and the beautiful model Sharon Mirembe Sanya from Uganda and her male Rwandan model colleague Fergadiotis Tassos so to keep the creations of the Summer 2016 collection stand for themselves.

Of course we made the shooting outside and not in a studio – hot burning African Summer sun instead of artificial light that was a real challenge for our models who did a great job while facing the brightest sunlight…

Photographer at this shooting for RWANDA CLOTHING was once again our designer Joselyne Umutoniwase.

The jewelry like earrings and necklaces for this shooting were designed by Sarah Legrand for her Rwandan jewelry label K’tsobe (

Thanks to everyone for participating in the shooting. It was great fun working with you all!
